Tourism 2012
This unique collection of images has been developed by East Midlands Tourism and captures current and aspiring Olympians and Paralympians, many of whom live as well as train in the East Midlands, taking part in their chosen sport at leading tourism attractions around the region. They showcase the East Midlands as a region of sporting excellence and a great place to visit in the run up to the 2012 Games and beyond.
Athletes and attractions featured in the images include: Triathlete Hollie Avil, who competed at the Beijing Olympics and is the current under 23 world champion at Leicester’s iconic Highcross, and artistic gymnast Becky Downie, 2009 British senior champion and 12th at the Olympic Games in Beijing, at Foxton Locks in Leicestershire.
