The National School Sport Dance

Schools from across the country will be taking part in a National School Sport Dance on the 19th January 2011. The event is designed to celebrate the power of school sport in uniting people and to showcase the strength of School Sport Partnership Network.

The Aim

The aim of ‘The National School Sport Dance’ is to:

1. Further physical activity opportunities for young people

2. Raise the profile of School Sport Partnerships

3. Attempt a world record for simultaneous dancing

Date: 19th January 2011

(555 days to the Olympics – 555=SSS=Support School Sport)

Time: 11.40am (20to12)

How it works

School children will be asked to perform the set dance routine at 11.40am in their classroom, school hall or at a central venue organised by their SSP. Other groups of people are more than welcome to take part (e.g. community groups, universities, sports clubs) and show their support for school sport - simply register with your details!

The Dance

The Dance is the Official Young Ambassador Dance that was created by young people and inspired by the Olympic and Paralympic values.
