Paralympic Mascot Visit
As part of the London 2012 Get Set Network, Robert Smyth School in Market Harborough won a national competition to be one of the first schools to meet the mascots at the start of their journey.
‘Mandeville' the official London 2012 Paralympic mascot joined pupils and teachers at the school for an opening ceremony and warm up followed by a ‘Mini Olympics’.
As part of the day, Year 10 students participated in an enterprise day during which they were asked to design a piece of Olympic or Paralympic memorabilia. Pupils also got the opportunity to be part of the London 2012 story by telling Mandeville how they are living the Olympic and Paralympic values.
