More than 150 of Team GB's volunteers for the London 2012 Olympic Games came together today (29th Feb) for a training and team orientation session at Loughborough University, which will host the Team GB Preparation Camp prior to the Olympic Games this summer.

Tuesday 17th January will see the opening event of the Citizens Eye cmc2012 project. Between 12-2pm the Screen Lounge of the Phoenix Square Film & Digital Media Centre will play host to partners and volunteer community reporters as they mark the start of an exciting 12 months of activities, events and training.

Borough residents are being invited to submit nominations for the annual Local Sport and Health Alliance sports awards. The celebration evening run by Hinckley and Bosworth Local Sport and Health Alliance, honours not only the achievements of individuals and teams but also the contribution made by the volunteers who help to run many of the clubs.

Still time to apply for Young Games Maker roles

The London 2012 Organising Committee Games (LOCOG) has announced a short extension to the application deadline for those Young Games Maker roles where opportunities are still available. If you are still considering putting forward a team of 16–18 year olds, or would like to submit additional teams, you now have until midnight on Monday 7 November to apply.
