Leicester City Centre was the focus of Regional celebrations to mark UK Inspire Day on Wednesday 16th May 2012.

Leicester is set to go table tennis crazy this summer as it gets ready to serve up Ping 2012. For four weeks in July, 58 ping-pong tables will pop up in unexpected locations across Leicester. All tables will be marked 'Stop and Play', with bats and balls in ample supple, so anyone that wants to try a game of ping-pong can have a go.

SWIMMERS will be making a splash at three Leicester leisure centres this weekend as part of Swimathon 2012.
Aylestone Leisure Centre, Cossington Street Sports Centre and Braunstone Leisure Centre will be among 645 pools across the UK holding swimming events as part of this year's event - a campaign which over the last 25 years has raised millions of pounds for charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care and Sport Relief.
Cycling Sunday gets sporty

Cycling Sunday returns this week with a choice of professionally guided bike rides with a sporting theme. The three rides, which take place on Sunday (Apr 29), vary in distance and challenge and follow quiet or traffic calmed routes taking in some of Leicester's sporting landmarks. All rides are led by qualified British Cycling ride leaders.
