The celebration evening run by Hinckley and Bosworth Local Sport and Health Alliance, honours not only the achievements of individuals and teams but also the contribution made by the volunteers who help to run many of the clubs.

The first stage of the My Games My Legacy Patchwork Pledge blanket has gone on display at New Walk Museum in Leicester, to mark one year to go the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The blanket, which has been created from more than 7,500 six-inch squares that have been knitted and crocheted by people from across the city and county, aims to celebrate London 2012 while inspiring people to learn new skills

Runners of all ages and abilities will be pounding the traffic-free streets of Hinckley town centre on the evening of Wednesday 22 June as the town hosts the third annual town centre road runs.

Both races are organised by Hinckley Running Club, LOROS and the Borough Council.
