The first stage of the My Games My Legacy Patchwork Pledge blanket has gone on display at New Walk Museum in Leicester, to mark one year to go the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The blanket, which has been created from more than 7,500 six-inch squares that have been knitted and crocheted by people from across the city and county, aims to celebrate London 2012 while inspiring people to learn new skills

Open Weekend is an annual UK-wide celebration counting down to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Open Weekend 2011, supported by BP, takes place from the 22nd – 24th July and is set to be the biggest and best yet, with hundreds of thousands of people from across the UK, participating in events and bespoke projects to celebrate ‘One Year to Go’ to the Games.

Both races are organised by Hinckley Running Club, LOROS and the Borough Council.
