Lots to see at Leicester's Big Screen this weekend

People are invited to take part in a number of activities at the Big Screen, in Humberstone Gate, this weekend and next Monday (Sept 10).

There will be live coverage of the Paralympics on the big screen between 10am and 6pm on Saturday 8 September. In addition, there will be a seating area set out for spectators, flags provided to celebrate the games and street artists and live music.

Saturday's Paralympic coverage will be followed by the screening of the Last Night of the Proms, the finale to the world's greatest classical music festival, live from the Royal Albert Hall, from 6pm until 11am.

On Sunday 9 September, there will be further coverage of the Paralympics, from 11am, including the closing ceremony. Once again, there will be a seating area, street artists making balloon models and other entertainment.

In addition, on Monday 10 September, the team GB victory parade will be aired on the big screen, from 1pm until 4pm. People will be given flags to help celebrate and more street arts will be taking place.

All events are free to attend and, while seating is provided, people are welcome to bring their own chairs and picnics too.

People are reminded that Humberstone Gate West is an alcohol free zone.
