Paralympics squads delighted to be at ‘world class' college

Sitting Volleyball development manager Dan Griffin says Loughborough College is proving the perfect venue for the men's and women's teams to prepare for the Paralympic Games.

The squads of 11 men and women have been based at the College since July 2 and are due to remain in Loughborough until setting off for a holding camp on August 17.

Griffin said: "We looked around at a number of venues before choosing Loughborough College. It was an advantage that the head office of Volleyball England are in Loughborough and we were also well aware of the standard of the facilities here.

"Our stay has been a continuation of our good relationship with the College. We always knew coming here that there would be an understanding of what we need to do at this stage of our preparation.

"It has been superb. The staff have been fantastic with us and the services here are world class. I can't praise them over. I'd also mention accommodation services staff who have been fantastic and made us very welcome.

"This has been a great opportunity for us to get together as a team, train and prepare for every aspect of the experience ahead at the Paralympics. It's been going very well and spirits are very high. We have had a healthy mixture of hard work and time to relax and the team have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Olympics."
