Sports centres across Leicester are running a special offer this weekend to encourage visitors to try out new sports.
On Sunday, September 2, admission at seven of the city's sports and leisure centres will cost only £2 for adults and £1.50 for under-16s as part of a scheme to get more people to experiment with new sporting activities.
Sports available will be suitable for all abilities and range from swimming, to ball sports and fitness activities.
The scheme is being run to build on the momentum brought about by a sporting summer which has so far included Euro 2012, Wimbledon, the London 2012 Olympics and the forthcoming Paralympic Games.
Venues taking part include Aylestone Leisure Centre, Braunstone Leisure Centre, Cossington Street Sports Centre, Evington Leisure Centre, Leicester Leys Leisure Centre, New Parks Leisure Centre and Spence Street Sports Centre.
Leicester assistant city mayor responsible for heritage, leisure and sport, Cllr Piara Singh Clair, said: "I hope the success and inspiration of our Olympic and Paralympic athletes this summer provides the spark for people to get involved in more regular, healthy activity.
"Dropping into you local leisure centre is a great way to find out what activities are available and give them a try."
