Do YOU want to be a Citizen Reporter?
If you have an interest in journalism why not join the Citizen’s Eye team and become one of the 2,012 Citizen Reporters recruited across Leicester & Leicestershire to capture all the community news by 2012!
You could join other volunteers involved in the news agencies at workshops organised by the Community Media Training School.
You could learn ‘How To’ …..set up social media channels, make a short film, take a photo, write a news article, develop broadcast skills and get your voice heard.
If you are interested please email editor@citizenseye.org for details of your nearest session or why not drop into the Community News Cafe every Tuesday from 9.30-10.30am and again in the evening 6-7.30pm.
The Citizen Reporters, who volunteer their time to report on local events and identify community news stories use the Kona Blue Coffees shop in Highcross.
The Citizens’ Eye Community News Agency website has been established to enable community people in Leicester and Leicestershire to become ‘Citizen Reporters’ and provide a news gathering platform for current and relevant news to the third sector.
Citizens Eye aims to:
- Provide a professional media outlet for community groups to promote their events and share best practice amongst their peers.
- Present the stories and photographs received in a professional and unbiased way, and to accurately represent all communities.
- In our portrayal of the people and locations reported, we shall strive to dispel much of the ignorance that erodes community cohesion.
