People are being given the chance to nominate their favourite local sporting heroes and top sporting events of 2012 in a campaign celebrating the best of the city's talent.

Glasgow 2014 will officially launch their volunteer programme for the Commonwealth Games next week when they begin accepting expressions of interest. Around 15,000 people will be needed to help make the event a success and interest is expected to be high following the success of London 2012.

The Leicester-Shire & Rutland School Games is officially underway for the 2012/13 academic year and the School Games Organising Committee (LOC) want to ensure that every school across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland is involved!
