The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games are more than just a world class sporting event. Culture will also play an integral role through the Cultural Olympiad, a series of major events designed to showcase the UK's arts and culture to the rest of the world. The four year Cultural Olympiad began at the closing of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and will culminate in the London 2012 Festival, providing over 10 million chances to see free world-class events throughout the UK

The Cultural Olympiad is the largest cultural celebration in the history of the modern Olympic and Paralympic Games and is designed to give everyone in the UK a chance to be part of London 2012 - now.
