The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games will provide many direct and indirect business opportunities in the period leading up to, during and beyond the Games.

The London 2012 delivery team has stated that it expects to award around 7,000 direct contracts which, together with their suppliers, will form supply chains of around 75,000 opportunities, ranging from construction, engineering and manufacturing to creative, merchandising and retail.

Opportunities to join the supply chain for the London 2012 programme are awarded through the CompeteFor website with further information available through the Business Network

No business is too small to compete.

22% of all contracts awarded for the London 2012 Games, are won by businesses with less than TEN employees.

Infoterra and Industrial Fire Protection are just two examples of Leicester and Leicestershire based businesses that are already benefiting from contracts and sub-contracts relating to the 2012 Games.

We aim to build on this success by ensuring that businesses in Leicester and Leicestershire have access to up to date information on opportunities and the necessary skills, advice and support to become “fitter for the future” and in the best position to compete for contracts and sub-contracts relating to the 2012 Games and public sector procurement opportunities in general.
