Flames Ambassador delighted at Olympic selection
Flames: Lighting the way ambassador Nicola White is today celebrating after being selected to represent Team GB at the London 2012 Games. Hockey star Nicola, 24, was named in the 16 strong squad announced by coach Danny Kerry at the London Stock Exchange this morning.

Celebration on park to mark arrival of Olympic torch
Details of the celebration event that will mark the arrival of the Olympic torch to Leicester on July 2nd have been announced by Leicester City Council. People are being invited to complete a registration form for a ticket – either online or in named city venues – between Monday 21st May, to Sunday 3rd June.

A Celebration of Outdoor Adventure

Come and join LOPC to celebrate a weekend dedicated to adventurous outdoor activities in the heart of Leicester. LOPC's gates will be open during the weekend for everyone to come and enjoy classic land based activities, challenging high ropes courses and water based activities for free! Activities will also include Olympic sports; archery, fencing, air rifle shooting and canoeing to inspire young budding athletes and the local community to get involved with the upcoming London 2012 Games.

Let's Dance International Festival

Let's Dance International Festival runs from the 12 - 27th of May and will see 162 artists create 26 events in 10 venues across Leicester. The programme showcases spectacular and diverse high quality dance and includes master classes by top choreographers for emerging dancers and dance enthusiasts. The festival includes three major performances; all regional premières and part of the UK Cultural Olympiad. The programme offers an opportunity to see some of the best work produced nationally and internationally with companies from Jamaica, India and the UK.
